Allium Jesdianum Purple Rain

‘Purple Rain’ is a bulbous perennial, 90cm high, with green leaves which die back before airy, sparkler-like rich pink-purple flowerheads, 15cm across, open in early summer. Allium ‘Purple Rain’ is a cross between Allium ‘Purple Sensation’ and Allium cristophii. It bears huge purple, globe-shaped flower heads measuring up to 15cm in diameter. Flowering in late June, it’s a great choice for growing with earlier-flowering alliums such as its parent ‘Purple Sensation’, to extend the season.
