Join us for a morning of rosy June Joy…
Diana Robertson, formerly Head Gardener at National Trust for Scotland’s Garden of Historic Roses at Drum Castle in Aberdeenshire, now a Cambo volunteer will provide a fascinating informal and anecdotal history of roses.
Phil Lusby, formerly Head of Horticulture at the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh, has spent the last three years advising on the rejuvenation of the roses at Carolside in the Scottish Borders – a private garden known for its collection of historic roses including a National Collection of Gallica Roses – will talk about his work there and give some general advice on rose care – pruning and rejuvenation.
Talks will be followed by a tour of Cambo’s own rose collection with Diana, Phil and Cambo Head Gardener Katherine Taylor and there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions about the practical aspects of growing roses.
