From the beginning of October we will be transforming the Stables Visitor Centre for the season ahead… An autumn celebration of nature, colour and craft. The name “Kaleidoscope” comes from Greek words meaning “beautiful form” and “to look”—reflecting the changing patterns of the season and our creative programme taking us through until Christmas.

Our first installation in the new Tack Room exhibition space is a dried flower cornucopia bringing the abundance of the walled garden into the heritage of the Stables. Enjoy our autumnal flat lay displays of leaf and plant life as they evolve in colour and form. Changing self led crafts will be available for all ages to try in our relaxed space.

Our cafe will have a seasonal revamp to bring the cosy into the carriage house space. A new menu of hot dishes will be served canteen style alongside the shop and ticket desk within the neighbouring stalls area. These changes will allow us to remain open 7 days a week through the winter months with a more efficient model of service.

Our events programme for families centres on the Spiderweb wood – a fun family trail celebrating the minibeasts of autumn and halloween fame. Drop in from 11 October to 2 November. Our annual Samhain event will follow the spider theme alongside fire, food and crafts on Saturday 2 November.

Katy, our talented gardener who leads our cut flower garden will be hosting creative dried flower workshops from mid November to mid December to enable you to create inspirational and sustainable decorations from our dried flowers and evergreen material.

Our programme will culminate in the weekend of the winter solstice with a colourful craft driven event weekend over 21/22 December.

Enjoy an autumnal season of colour, craft and cosy surroundings at Cambo with us…
